OBJECTIVES:
To further the mutual enjoyment
of the Corvette Sports Car. To gain
technical & practical information, for Corvette owners & enthusiasts. Provide
the opportunity for social activities among the members. To conduct safe driving
activities & demos, in order to display the skills of the members. To encourage
safe conduct on public highways. Support the N.C.C.C. by membership &
participation.
MEMBERSHIP:
A person shall be eligible for
membership in the Medina Corvette providing he/she is 21 years of age & complies
with the traditions, laws & principles of the organization.
BENEFITS of MEMBERSHIP:
From the National Council of Corvette Clubs you will receive, a license plate
frame, identification card, rule book, cloth patch, & the quarterly “ Blue Bars”
magazine. From the East Ohio Region you will receive a cloth patch. From the
Medina Corvette Club you will receive a monthly newsletter, constitution &
by-laws, membership roster, vehicle decal, cloth patch, & a license plate frame.
DUES:
Club dues for one fiscal
yr. are currently $20.00 for a primary member & $5.00 for a spouse/co-owner.
National Council of Corvette Clubs dues are payable at the same time as club
dues & are set by the national club. All Medina Corvette Club members must be
members of the national club.
CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES:
All Medina Corvette Club
sponsored activities are for the purpose of contributing to local charities.
Past beneficiaries have been the Medina Fair Victims Fund, Special Olympics of
Ohio, Medina
Project Learn, Medina
Food Bank, & many others.
INFO & CONTACTS:
As a member you are eligible to attend all
events sponsored by the N.C.C.C. and it’s member clubs. Currently the East Ohio
Region has 16 clubs. Of which the Medina Corvette Club is one. The M.C.C.
sponsors about 7 N.C.C.C. events each year in addition to our monthly meetings,
socials & cruises. The business meeting is held on the second Wednesday of each
month at 7:00 pm. For more

HIGH
SPEED:
Usually held on a road
course such as Nelson Ledges or Mid-Ohio. At a High Speed event all roadsters
must have a roll bar. Drivers must be high-speed qualified, & requires some
special safety equipment.
CONCOURS:
A judged Car Show where your car is judged on cleanliness.
Established classes give everyone an opportunity to win.
CAR
SHOWS:
An exhibition of vehicles, divided into classes.
Selection of winners is usually by the entrants or spectator votes.
DRAG
RACING:
Held on a Drag Strip such as Norwalk or Dragway 42. Cars divided into
classes or brackets fastest times or first to finish line determines the winner.
LOW SPEED: Maximum speed is 80 M.P.H. Events are
usually held on a flat surface; parking lot/landing strip etc.
Utilizing curves/slaloms/gates to determine the course. Best time determines the
winner in each class.
MATCHING TIMES:
Three runs on a course or
Drag strip or Road course, where the driver tries to match 2 times as closely as
possible.
CLASSES:
Cars are classed according to year/engine size/special equipment for speed events. And according to
year/customizing for Concourse. In Car Shows, classes are selected by the host
Club.
RALLY:
Driver & Navigator are required. They must follow
directions given to them, to complete a course on city streets.
There is usually a list of
questions to be answered on the route.
Most correct answers win.
CRUISES & SOCIALS:
Most summer cruises are held on Wednesday
evenings, (K-Mart plaza on center Rd. in Brunswick. at 7:00 pm.) with group corvette travel to a
destination selected
by the cruise leader
(weather permitting). Socials are held on monthly basis (usually on a weekend)
with a member host who selects the activity. Activities have included canoeing
/horseback riding/museums/baseball games/indoor soccer/auto racing/pool parties
& picnics.
